From the Pastor's Heart

Everyone has their spiritual “curiosities” . . . things that always capture your attention, draw you in deeper, and open up new windows of insight.  One such area for me is the question of how people actually mature in Christlikeness.  There is much talk about change, but how does it actually happen in the trenches of real life?  Think it’s easy?  Then just pick one of your most persistent bad habits and try not only to stop it, but replace it with a godly habit.  When the force of our sins and the weaknesses of our willpower collide, we’re usually not much better for it.  We need help—outside help—the Holy Spirit, who interestingly enough gives us “inside help.”     Read More >

Women's Bible Studies:

What if you gave it all to God? Your hopes. Your doubts. Your hurts. Your dreams.  Our Women's group will be studying "Becoming a Woman of Extraordinary Faith" by Julie Clinton.  This Bible study will encourage us to experience a transformed life in Christ through spending time with Him and seeking His heart. God longs for you to experience Him in new ways . . . and grow into a woman of extraordinary faith!  During this 10 week journey we'll dig into God's word, explore motivational stories of remarkable women of the Bible and today, and discover His personal promises.  We will learn to believe God even when life doesn't make sense, find healing of past wounds, guilt and lost dreams, and grow relationships and connections that deeply matter.  You are pursued by a loving God.  Discover the extraordinary faith adventure He has for you today!

This is a video based lesson featuring a variety of speakers, with accompanying homework for each week.  Books will be available at the first meeting for $10 each.  Look for information at the Welcome Desk to sign-up for our spring studies, or call the church office to register for one of the groups:

Campus Crusade For Christ

Coming back from a year in Berlin, God has led Joanna Kelley to continue working with Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru) and this spring she will be moving to San Antonio, TX.  It's there that she and a new team will be helping get a Hispanic branch of Cru (called Destino) started on several college campuses (UTSA, SAC, and Palo Alto)!  Destino is just in its beginning stages so the Cru team will be doing a lot of ground work, meeting and sharing the gospel with a lot of students, and hoping to see God raise up a Christian movement of Hispanic believers on these campuses!  As of now, Joanna expects to be working there for at least a few years...and ironically San Antonio is near a couple of prominent Texas-German cities. :) Please continue praying for Joanna, the team she will be working with, and the students she will minister to as she sets out on a new adventure with God. You can stay updated on what’s happening in Joanna’s life through her blog

Haiti Mission Trip

September 2011 we had a group of five men travel to Haiti with WATERisLIFE.com to help drill water wells.  They drilled a well in the city of Limbe to provide water for an orphanage.  They were also able to help out by grinding 2 1/2 tons of corn to be given away, distributed personal water filters in the town of Ennery, and built a chain-link fence.  They had the privilege of playing with and loving on 29 wonderful orphan kids as well.

Bibles and Books for Kenya

This summer we collected 193 boxes of Bibles and books to be used by pastors in rural Kenya and beyond.  Several churches and organizations helped with the project to provide study resources.  The books filled six pallets, and with help from Standing in the Gap Ministries, were delivered to North Texas.  We are grateful for all of those who participated in supplying these much needed resources.

Cambodia Mission Trip

A group of 21 people traveled to Cambodia in June 2011.  The focus of this trip was to hold a VBS for the Children's Center in Poipet as well as for kids in the surrounding neighborhood.  It was a very successful outreach to the community as over 750 children attended and had the chance to hear about God's love for them.  The group also helped by painting a local school.

Kenya

Pastor Andrew traveled to Kenya in March 2011 to help train pastors in Nairobi and the Lake Baringo area.  The conference was very well attended and over 900 pastors had the opportunity to receive materials and training, some for the very first time.
